Self-Tanning Cream Addictive According to Harvey Birdman
April 21, 2006 on 4:06 am by MortensonHarvey Birdman, Attorney at Law (part of Cartoon Network’s “Adult Swim”) devoted an entire episode to self-tanning cream. In it, Birdman, who is dependent on the sun for his powers, develops a melanoma, and decides to use self-tanning cream as a sunless alternative to the real thing. He becomes addicted to it as it fuels his powers and gives him a healthy glow.
After years of getting his powers from the sun, Harvey notices a suspicious spot on his skin. When his dermatoligist insists he stay out of the sun and use sunblock, the now droopy Birdman turns to a self-tanning cream for a pick me up. It isn’t long before he’s addicted to the stuff, using more and more to stay awake.
It was the 14th episode of the series, which you can check out on Amazon. Very funny, but completely crazy. And note that self-tanning is not PHYSICALLY addictive as Birdman implies, but looking like you have a healthy glowing skin can be MENTALLY addictive.
