February 23, 2007 on 2:31 pm by Karen
Tanning towels have become increasining popular in recent years because they work and they are so convenient! Comodynes Sunless Tanning Towelettes are a trusted brand in the form of sunless tanning towelettes. They have been improved since first introduced to the market and continue to be a product that sunless tanning enthusiasts turn to for a great looking sunless tan.
Comodynes Sunless Tanning Towelettes are individually wrapped and can be purchased in multiple size packages according to your individual use from a single towelette to a package of 100. Each towelette measures 8 inches by 8 inches. Comodynes Sunless Tanning Towelettes are made for using on the entire body and face from 100% natural fibers that provide streak-free sunless tanning resulting in a natural sunless tan. Moisturization is provided from transcutols and a slight SPF of 5 from photoproctection ingredients gives you a slight protection from harmful UVA rays.
Application should be made in circular motions. One towelette will work for a petite person but two are required for complete body application for most people. You should wait about 30 minutes before dressing for the product to dry and avoid any staining of clothing. Wash hands immediately after use. To achieve your desired shade of “sunless tan” apply for 2 to 3 days in a row. You should reapply every 3 to 4 days to maintain your sunkissed glow.
Comodynes Sunless Tanning Towelettes can be purchased from Folica.com in the 8 count package for $11.69 per box.
Dermalogica Full Spectrum Wipes Review
December 18, 2005 on 7:07 am by WillSunscreen! Here? Yes! I just like this product. Sometimes you are going to need sunscreen, and it can be a pain to apply it. You always risk missing spots, like the time I missed the back of my knee. Not good times. The Dermalogica Full Spectrum Wipes (SPF15) are simply sunscreen with a towel application process. Open up the sealed package and wipe. Even, easy and safe sun protection.
Mini-review:
Strengths: Towel form offers a great way to apply screen evenly with confidence, convenient packaging
Weaknesses: Not a great value, 15 for $21, no tanning component
Different application methods give consumers the power to use products how they want to use them . Consumer choice is awesome and the Dermalogica Full Spectrum Wipes fill a niche for those who have a SPF need.
Tanning Towel — The Company, the Product, The Naked
November 8, 2005 on 6:44 am by GrablerWipe and Go!! That’s the principle of the TanTowel, which combines moisturizing, exfoliation, and tanning all in one. The tanning towel, containing the active ingredient, DHA, found in most self-tanning products can be a convenient way to kill three birds with one stone. It is particularly recommended to people with sensitive and vulnerable skin. The theory behind the tanning towel is that the DHA will be able to produce a longer-lasting, fuller tan if applied to exfoliated, moisturized skin. The towel is certainly worth a look given the blunt tag line on the website “Look Good Naked!”. Because the women on the site were not, in fact, naked, we could not verify how good the TanTowel made them look naked.
We have reviews of almost all the TanTowel products like the TanTowel Evolution Plus 50 Pack and the original TanTowel 50 Pack at our page dedicated to TanTowel Self Tanning.
Comodynes Sunless Tanning Towelettes
November 5, 2005 on 7:12 am by WillThe Comodynes Sunless Tanning Towelettes are the second most common tanning wipe. At the time of our original review, it was still a bit pricey, but it hasn’t since come down, especially now that it is available in bulk. Following that link, you can see that in quanties of 100, you can pull the price per a towel down to $1.40, which is competitive against the TanTowel price levels of $1.60 per towel. $140 is a lot of money, but spending that much up front offfers significant savings (provided, of coure, you know you will be using all 100 wipes). It takes 2-3 towels to cover the whole body and the dark glowing skin lasts 5-7 days, so a 100 pack would be about a half a year supply.
Mini-review:
Strengths: Easy application with no streaking. Towel is made to exfoliate while it tans. Competitive price for a sunless tan towel.
Weaknesses:No moisturizing component. No SPF protection. Takes 2-3 towels to spread across your whole body.
This is now our recommended self-tanning towellette. Improved value and strong product make the Comodynes Sunless Tanning Towelette a real winner. You will occasionally see it on QVC as well.
InsTanTan Sunless Tanning Towels
October 14, 2005 on 2:02 pm by WillThe The InsTanTan Sunless Tanning Towels are almost indentical to the RioBronze Sunles Self Tanning Towels, so check out our earlier review. The biggest difference is that the InsTanTan’s are very scare and generally hard to find — we can only ever find them on eBay (this search link will usually find it). Their Buy-It-Now price of $24.99 means that they are nominally cheaper than the RioBronzes, but if you look at the fineprint, as we always do, you’ll see the shipping rate wipes out any cost differences, as they chargea high $8 shipping. They are a still a good value in the towelette category .
Mini-review:
Strengths: Pretty good price, at $0.50-.60 per a towel as opposed to $1.40 per a TanTowel. Like RioBronze, cheap enough you can buy them and try them. DHA and a combination of ingredients all fully disclosed.
Weaknesses: High shipping at $8. Canister dispenser. Hard to find.
InsTanTan serves as a good substitue for the RioBronze wipes, depending on availability. Use this linkto find them.
RioBronze Sunless Self Tanning Towels
October 13, 2005 on 6:33 pm by WillThe biggest name brand in sunless tanning towels is TanTowel, but we recently found a lesser known alternative, RioBronze Sunles Self Tanning Towels. The link takes you to their 50 unit package which costs a mere $30as opposed to $80 for a 50 pack of their generic TanTowel product. They both feature the same active ingredient and the same size. This shows the markup that a name brand commands and how much you save sometimes by skipping the big name.
Mini-review:
Strengths: Great value offering, at $0.60 per a towel as opposed to $1.40 per a TanTowel. Cheap enough you can buy them and try them. Same DHA active ingredient
Weaknesses: The towels come out of a canister dispenser and are less convenient than the normal heat-sealed towel wrapper which other self-tanning wipes have. Some people just prefer
