On The Glow Face: A Self Tanner For Face With Retinol

January 19, 2007 on 11:05 am by Mortenson

onetheglow.jpg On The Glow Face is a self tanning formula designed specifically for the face from Tan Towel. It contains retinol for combating the aging process and moisturizers to keep skin looking and feeling soft and smooth.

On The Glow Face is a remarkable product. Unlike other Tan Towel products, this one is a lotion formula. It contains natural moisturizing ingredients of jojoba, olive oil, avocado and oat kernel extract, having a natural and fresh scent. These ingredients provide hydration for dry skin and keeps skin fully moisturized. Retinol is also included to nourish skin and combat the natural aging process. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines around the eyes and forehead.

On The Glow Face provides a natural sun kissed glow with the combination of DHA and Erythrulose. The combination of the two ingredients provide a natural and longer lasting self-tan. Your sun kissed glow will deepen with repeated use. Once you have achieved the desired glowing effect, use once per week to maintain your desired color. As with using any self tanning product, wash hands after application or use.

On The Glow Face is available in a 8 fl. oz. tube at Sensational Skin’s website for $15.95 a tube.

Tan Towel, The Self Tan Towelette

January 15, 2007 on 2:02 pm by Mortenson

tantowel.jpgI will have to say that the most convenient way to self tan is with Tan Towel, a convenient towelette that is totally mess free. The towelettes are individually wrapped which keep them moist and ready to use whenever YOU are ready to use them.

Tan Towel comes in several different formulas and sizes. The regular Tan Towel is for those with light skin tones, which this review is focused on. Tan Towel Plus is for people with medium skin tone or olive skin. They can be purcased in 10 count or 50 count boxes depending on the formula.

What is so great about Tan Towel?

- Convenience of packaging; one per package.

- No messy lotion or gel to deal with.

- Dries very quickly.

- No streaking, even application.

- No discoloration to ankles, elbows and knees.

Exfoliates in the process, towelette has built in fibers.

- Fresh citrus scent.

Tan Towel delivers a natural looking sunless tan that anyone would be proud to wear and bear. You can purchase Tan Towel at several online retailers but usually the best price is direct from Tan Towel. A ten pack of towelettes are $20.00.

Tanning Towel — The Company, the Product, The Naked

November 8, 2005 on 6:44 am by Mortenson

Wipe and Go!! That’s the principle of the TanTowel, which combines moisturizing, exfoliation, and tanning all in one. The tanning towel, containing the active ingredient, DHA, found in most self-tanning products can be a convenient way to kill three birds with one stone. It is particularly recommended to people with sensitive and vulnerable skin. The theory behind the tanning towel is that the DHA will be able to produce a longer-lasting, fuller tan if applied to exfoliated, moisturized skin. The towel is certainly worth a look given the blunt tag line on the website “Look Good Naked!”. Because the women on the site were not, in fact, naked, we could not verify how good the TanTowel made them look naked.

We have reviews of almost all the TanTowel products like the TanTowel Evolution Plus 50 Pack and the original TanTowel 50 Pack at our page dedicated to TanTowel Self Tanning.

TanTowel Evolution Plus 50 Pack

Quickly following up on our TanTowel Evolution 50 Pack review, they also have a darker version of this same offering. Following the same naming convention as their other products, “plus” means “darker” and the TanTowel Evolution Plus 50 Pack is the dark version of the vanilla TanTowel Evolution. Clicking that link you’ll notice the key factor that differentiates the Evolution from its predecessors — its ginormous size. The Evolution is designed to offer full body coverage in a single towelette as opposed to 2-3 towelettes required by the smaller TanTowel offerings.

Mini-review:

Strengths: Darker self-tanner towel. DHA is the active ingredient. Speedy drying process. Smooth and even application. Exfoliating towelette. Priced @ $1.45 per an equivalent smaller towelette, or $4.35 for a deeper full body application which lasts 5-7 days.

Weaknesses: No moisturizer. No skin cancer protection. $220 is still alot of money up front. Larger size means it doesn’t make sense to use unless you want to do your full body

The TanTowel Evolution Plus 50 Pack is our pick provided that you want a full body darker tan in with a non-lotion self-tanner.

TanTowel Evolution 50 Pack

September 15, 2005 on 8:42 am by Mortenson

In earlier reviews, we recommended the original TanTowel 50 pack and the TanTowel Plus 50 Pack, but the sweetspot in value may in fact be their most expensive TanTowel Evolution 50 Pack. Clicking that link you’ll notice the key factor that differentiates the Evolution from its predecessors — its ginormous size. The Evolution is designed to offer full body coverage in a single towelette as opposed to 2-3 towelettes required by the smaller TanTowel offerings. Other than that, this product is the same.

Mini-review:

Strengths: Sunless tanning wipe. Uses DHA. Dries quickly on your skin. Applies evenly. Towel is its own exfoliant. Priced such that it costs $1.2 per a smaller towelette, or $3.60 per a full body application which lasts 5-7 days.

Weaknesses: No moisturizing effect. No skin cancer protection. $180 is still alot of money up front. Larger size means it doesn’t make sense to use unless you want to do your full body

The TanTowel Evolution 50 Pack is our recommended sunless tanning wipe; best price point if you plan to do a full body self-tan.

TanTowel Plus 50 Pack

September 8, 2005 on 10:23 am by Mortenson

We recommend the original TanTowel 50 pack more than their darker “plus” version but it really comes to your own personal shade preference. Our opinion is less is more when it comes to self-tanning. But for those seeking a dark sunless tanning towel, the TanTowel Plus is a good option for you. The whole body takes 2-3 towels to cover while the tan takes 5-7 days to dissapear.

Mini-review:

Strengths: Darker formula than normal tantowel. Uses DHA. Fast dry. More even application. Towel is its own exfoliant

Weaknesses:Not a moisturizer and doesn’t offer protection against the sun. Price is a bit steep, almost 20% more than their normal product, a cost of $2 per towelette.

Like the original TanTowel, this is a solid choice provided you want to try the a darker sunless wipe.

TanTowel 50 Pack

September 1, 2005 on 4:48 am by Mortenson

We earlier reviewed the Comodynes Self-Tanning Towelettes and found them to be too expensive despite being good at the core objective of sunless tanning. The towelette forms offfers stronger application than a spray or a cream and makes missing areas less common. A slightly better value for a towelette product is the TanTowel. If you buy in a 5 0pack quantity for $79.95, you are paying $1.60 per a towel, as compared to $1.75 for a Comodynes towel. You can see from the product picture that it comes in the same size packages as the Comodynes products. It takes 2-3 towels to cover the whole body and the darkened skin lasts 5-7 days.

Mini-review:

Strengths: Easier to apply than sprays or creams, fabric of the towel is a built in exfoliant, sunless self-tanner

Weaknesses:No moisturizing component. No SPF protection.

Could be better but if you want to try a tanning towel, tantowel is a solid choice.
